Tech Deck Dude Case Study
The Challenge
The Tech Deck Dude line was originally based off of the very successful Tech Deck finger-boards. Unfortunately, product sales fluctuated based on the current popularity of skateboarding, so in an attempt to diversify, Tech Deck ordered up a brand refresh. Tribe was charged with the task of giving the “Dudes” their own life beyond the extreme sports world.
The Solution
Unlike the dark and gritty Tech Deck line, the younger Tech Deck Dude toys called for more vivid colors and a slightly mischievous feel. While creating packaging, advertising and POS material, we utilized highly stylized illustration whenever possible to help retain the toys’ edge. We also created a style guide for packaging to ensure a cohesive “Dude” brand look.
Within the first few months of the packaging updates, major retailers saw a significant increase in the amount of moved inventory and a continual growth of the “Dude” products. The product lines also expanded and saw a larger shelf presence at major retailers such as Target, Walmart and Kmart.
Foundation Strength Case Study
The Challenge
A high-end training service and gym start-up in Carlsbad, Foundation Strength knew they needed top tier branding and design that matched the high quality of their service. They knew needed a look that was memorable and would help distinguish them from other gyms and training services, while at the same communicating their results driven approach to training. Essentially, they knew what they needed was an online marketing boot camp. That’s why they signed up for training sessions with Tribe Creative.
The Solution
Tribe incorporated a stylized illustration of a kettlebell into Foundation’s logo, and used a light green color juxtaposed on a dark grey, gritty background. The website gave a face to the muscles and highlighted the many services offered by the gym. Tribe’s copywriting and SEO experts helped create keyword rich content that was both compelling to read and effective at driving Foundation up the search rankings ladder. Web analytics were put into place as the team continues to hone content. Foundation has reaped the rewards in the form of increased traffic and higher rankings in organic searches.
FirstAgain Case Study
The Challenge
A familiar one for small businesses and start-ups alike: Incredible products, little awareness. San Diego based FirstAgain had spent years honing and developing a revolutionary online consumer lending product, but you know what they say about trees falling in a forest. FirstAgain needed a visual brand identity, and then it needed to get found amongst the giants in the lending space. Tribe was on the case.

The Honest Kitchen Case Study
The Challenge
The Honest Kitchen (THK) makes dehydrated, human-grade whole foods for dogs and cats. As the company’s online presence grows, they wanted to ensure that their SEO was targeted and PPC campaigns efficient.
The Solution
Tribe’s resident SEM guru went immediately to work, building out a plan that would create efficiencies in their PPC budget, and ramp up THK’s SEO. The plan called for focus on conversion tracking, emphasizing keywords that not only received more clicks, but kept a greater percentage of customers on the site for longer periods of time.
The strategy worked, increasing THK’s site traffic from CPC campaigns by a whopping 40%, while just as importantly, decreasing bounce rates by 36%.
